Thank you

Kudos to Givonna Joseph and OperaCreole! We asked the OperaCreole ensemble come on as the musical guests on a live late night talk show which features New Orleanians. Hearing their voices fill up the room was truly a magical experience. One of the most powerful things to witness was our audience who were transformed by OperaCreole's magnificent performance. Folks continued to talk about OperaCreole for several days to follow, that's how much of an impression was made. How lucky we are to have this unique ensemble in New Orleans.

Thank you! Everyone loved the presentation (for the Sigma Pi Phi). They were wonderfully surprised and I'm sure you'll be hearing from many of them. The party was a home run for my husband and I and we truly grateful to have had you all as our entertainment. Elizabeth

I was talking with Keith Spera, the Times-Picayune's music critic today. He asked me what my favorite shows were at Jazz and Heritage Festival this year. (I went all seven days and saw about 3 dozen performances.) I named some -- Springsteen, Mavis Staples, Bonnie Raitt, Carolina Chocolate Drops. But I told him my favorite was.... -- OperaCreole joining John Boutte on "Hallelujah." I've never seen a Jazz Fest audience react with such spontaneous, joyous, roaring appreciation. I was all the way in the back, barely in the tent. I was told by someone up front that many people were crying. The audience recognized it as one of those special, transcendent musical events at Jazz Fest. I think you guys scored THE 2012 Jazz Fest moment. For all the music on the Fair Grounds, those moments are rare. Your performance was the perfect marriage of tremendous song, gifted, soulful front man and angelic chorus of voices from heaven.

What a glorious four days we spent with you as our visiting guest artists at Illinois State University! Students, faculty, and community members were so moved by your beautiful voices, marvelous acting, and informative lectures. AND we just had a blast getting to know each of you fun, warm, gifted artists. Thanks so much for making the long trek!

I hope you like these pictures. Thank for a very nice evening. All the pieces were wonderful! I sat in the first row. I am just a lover of opera and was especially interested in hearing music -- other than Jazz--by our local composers. I love Gottschalk's music for instance. This is interesting, I have liked his music for many years and knew that he was Jewish. But I just googled him and found out that he was also a Creole. That's a double whammy. Please keep me informed of future events.Quotes

Among those who participated in the Concert Chamber at the Archbishop´ s Palace (on May 21st, 2011), the elegant baritone voice of Romel Brumley-Kerr impressed me with the ballad from "La del Soto del Parral," a zarzuela by Soutullo & Vert (1927). Brumley played the piece with the right musical quality and technique, but also with the emotion, inflections, and pronunciation required. I foresee a bright career in Romel and I hope he will devote himself more often to this Spanish lyrical genre.Quotes

Congratulations! Those superlative performances of such wonderful music puts Opera Creole in a class by itself. I have rarely enjoyed such musical delights and as an added treat you provided information to enhance Creole history and culture. I look forward to future Creole Opera events.Quotes

Saturday evening's performance was an enjoyable program of operatic excerpts well chosen and ably performed. The accompanying power point presentation was of professional quality and greatly added to the musical portion of the evening. All aspects of the evening showed careful thought and rehearsal.
